    Bio

    I’m a Happiness Engineer at Automattic, contributing to the WordPress open-source project. My background in design made me obsessive about getting the small things right, and that obsession follows me everywhere. I enjoy vibe coding little tools with AI for the fun of it. I’m in South Carolina, doing community theater and waiting all year for Halloween Horror Nights.

    WordPress Origin Story

    I built my first WordPress website in 2012 during my first semester of college. I dropped out not knowing what I wanted to study.

    After a few years I had a new dream and set out on the path to become a graphic designer at Walt Disney World. The jobs along that path kept leading me back to web design.

    Eventually I joined Automattic and started helping people who built their own sites on WordPress.com. That gave me a deeper understanding of how they actually use it.

    It all led me right here to the WordPress open-source project. I thought I had to be a developer to contribute and make WordPress better. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

    The project needs designers, marketers, writers, event organizers, speakers, teachers, and countless others to keep it alive.

    So here I am giving back to the software that gave so much to me.
