    WordPress Origin Story

    WordPress originated as a fork of an older blogging software called b2/cafelog in 2003. It was created by Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little. The story goes that when the development of b2/cafelog slowed down, Mullenweg decided to fork the software and continue its development, which eventually led to the creation of WordPress. Initially, it was primarily a blogging platform, but over time it evolved into a full-fledged content management system (CMS) capable of powering various types of websites. Today, WordPress powers around 40% of all websites on the internet, making it one of the most popular and widely used CMS platforms in the world.
