    We build BudgetPixel, a hosted platform for generating images, video, music and sound effects from models across many different labs on a single account and credit balance. Our plugin, BudgetPixel AI Images, brings that into the block editor: a featured image drafted from your post’s title and excerpt, with the exact credit cost shown before every run, plus a WP-CLI command for filling in a back catalogue. The plugin is free and GPL-2.0; generation runs on a paid BudgetPixel plan.

    WordPress Origin Story

    Bloggers using BudgetPixel kept doing the same dance: generate an image in our app, download it, upload it to WordPress, set it as the featured image. Enough of them asked for a plugin that we built one. BudgetPixel AI Images shipped in 2026 — a sidebar panel in the block editor, and a WP-CLI command for the posts that never got a featured image in the first place.
