Bio

I have run 365i since 2001, building and hosting WordPress sites for UK businesses, with a focus on performance, stability, and keeping things simple for site owners.

More recently I have been working on how AI systems discover and describe websites. I first published the term “AI Discovery Files” in December 2025 and wrote the specification that defines the ten file types, now maintained openly at ai-visibility.org.uk under CC BY 4.0. My AI Discovery Files plugin is the reference implementation.

I like solving practical problems and building small tools that do one job properly.

Interests

I spend most of my time working with WordPress, hosting, and website performance, and I genuinely enjoy solving the small technical problems that make sites faster and easier to manage. I’m also interested in how AI tools are changing the way people find and understand websites.

WordPress Origin Story

I started with computing in 1992 and moved into web work as the industry formed, founding 365i in 2001. WordPress became the practical answer for clients who needed to manage their own sites, and I got progressively more interested in what was happening underneath: hosting, caching, why sites are slow, and what breaks at scale. Thirty years in, most of what I build still comes from a client problem that needed solving twice.
