    WordPress Origin Story

    After years of building and maintaining WordPress sites in the DACH market, one frustration kept surfacing: the plugin ecosystem is built for an English-speaking, US-hosted audience. “GDPR-compliant” too often means a cookie banner and a privacy policy template — while the plugin itself quietly pipes data to AWS us-east-1.
    BrainWerk exists to close that gap. Plugins built EU-first, with German UX, EU-only data flows, and the audit trails you actually need when a Datenschutz-Anfrage lands on your desk.
    Currently shipping:
    ShieldForge — Security & DSGVO compliance, built for site owners who answer to the Datenschutzbehörde.
    SeoForge — SEO without the bloat or the third-party calls.

New DB backup (seoforge_settings_backup) mirrored on save/deactivate, preserved by uninstall.php (even a full purge, since settings are config not personal data), restored by the activator on a fresh install. New persist_settings opt-out (default on, Privacy tab). Version 1.1.0->1.2.0, no DB change.
