Berry Interesting predates our relationship with WordPress by a few years; we started the company in 2006 and found our way to WordPress in 2009.

What began as another tool for building websites gradually became the center of our work. We loved that WordPress gives us the flexibility to build for wildly different organizations without trapping those clients inside a proprietary system… and without making them dependent on us forever.

Over the years, building WordPress sites turned into maintaining them, maintaining them turned into supporting the larger ecosystems connected to them, and somewhere along the way we realized that the work we loved most wasn’t simply launching websites. It was helping the humans responsible for those websites keep them healthy, useful, and evolving long after launch day.

We’ve now spent nearly 20 years poking around WordPress dashboards, untangling inherited sites, troubleshooting strange plugin conflicts, building custom solutions, and learning that there is *always* another weird edge case waiting around the corner.

The natural next step after all those years of saying, “I wish there were a tool that did this…” was to start building and sharing some of those tools ourselves.
