    Bio

Software developer and entrepreneur from Germany, with more than 20 years of experience and a strong focus on AI systems for the last eight (before the hype started). I run Darkwood.Design, one of the top plugin developers in the WoltLab Suite ecosystem, and I’m building Aivor.ai, an AI platform for community operators and content creators with a clear focus on EU hosting and GDPR compliance. I love building products that automate the boring parts of running a website, so their owners can focus on content and community. When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me making music or tinkering with my next side project.

    WordPress Origin Story

I’ve been building software since I was a kid, and self-employed since 2007. For most of that time my home turf was WoltLab Suite, where I’ve published more than 135 commercial plugins under Darkwood.Design.

My path to WordPress started with a pain I know all too well. Years ago I ran my own fitness forum and a supplement shop, and I wrote every SEO article by hand: researching, updating, interlinking, over and over again. It worked, but it ate my evenings.

With Aivor I finally built the tool I wished I’d had back then. And since a huge part of the web runs on WordPress, it would have felt wrong to keep it inside my WoltLab bubble. So “SEO auf Autopilot” became my first WordPress plugin. New ecosystem, same goal: let AI do the repetitive work, so people can spend their time on what actually matters.
