Set stable tag to 5.8.59. Pages that were unpublished by the recent town-to-town fault are put back automatically: they return published, at their own address, under their own town name, the next time the site updates, and nothing has to be done by hand. Pages the site owner unpublished themselves are left exactly as they are - only pages this plugin took down are restored, and only where the site plan still lists them. Also carried forward from 5.8.57 and 5.8.58: the fault itself is off on every site rather than merely stoppable, and the off switch now covers the page rename as well as the unpublishing. Canary-verified on the worst affected site before promotion: its pages came back at their own addresses with no page answering under another town.

Tag 5.8.61 - the recovery added in 5.8.59 now runs on sites whose page plan has not changed recently. Previously a site could take that update and still not get its pages back, because the recovery only ran when something else prompted the site to re-read its plan. It now runs on its own, once, as soon as the update installs. Sites that were never affected are unchanged and the check costs them nothing. Not yet stable; trunk Stable tag remains 5.8.59 pending a canary.

Set stable tag to 5.8.58. In-depth answers can now be marked for a service page and appear at the top of it in their own section, with the short answer first and the full explanation underneath. A forwarding rule that sends one of your live pages to an address that no longer exists, or round in a circle, can now be removed - but only after the page it protects is confirmed live and the address it points at is confirmed dead by your own site, and a full copy is kept so it can be put back. An article can no longer be published twice, and any article already live twice is resolved automatically: the original stays, the copy goes to the trash and its address forwards to the original. The nightly summaries the plugin sends home now arrive with their detail. Canary-verified on the agency and property cohorts before promotion.

Tag 5.8.58 - pages on your site are no longer moved to another town's address, and pages are no longer unpublished to make room for that move. A fault introduced in 5.8.53 could rename one page from town to town across a site and unpublish every page standing in its way, so a page about your city could answer under the name of a different one. That behaviour is now off everywhere and can only be re-enabled deliberately; page addresses are built from the site structure again, which is how they were built for years. Also in this release: the existing off switch for address tidying now stops every part of it rather than only the unpublishing, and your account team can turn address tidying off for a site without needing access to the site itself. Supersedes 5.8.57, which was tagged and held. Not yet stable; trunk Stable tag remains 5.8.56 pending canary.

Tag 5.8.56 - when a duplicate article is tidied away, its old address now forwards to the copy that stays. In 5.8.54 the extra copy was moved to the trash but its address simply stopped working, so anyone arriving from a search result or an old link landed on a dead page; any address affected is repaired on its own the first time the clean-up runs after this update. An article you have unpublished is no longer treated as the copy to keep, and a copy is never moved to the trash unless there is a working address to send visitors to. An article you take back out of the trash now stays out and is reachable. A second copy you made yourself with a duplicate-post or translation tool is left alone. And the clean-up can now be turned off for a site by your account team. Supersedes 5.8.55, which was tagged and held. Not yet stable; trunk Stable tag remains 5.8.54 pending canary.
