WordPress Origin Story

Well, it’s open source. Being myself a Linux user, OS LinuxMint 19, it made sense.
I’ve looked and searched and read before making up my mind. WordPress.org was a given, but couldn’t decide where to buy two domain names and a hosting plan. Then I came upon a Canadian company, Namespro, based in Vancouver, offering domain names (with .ca, that was important for me), web hosting and, to boot, supporting Linux systems. That was that.
