Bio

Sallie Goetsch (rhymes with ‘sketch’) built her first website in 1994, discovered WordPress in 2005, and became organizer of the East Bay WordPress Meetup in Oakland, CA in 2009. She runs her WP Fangirl consulting and development business from her home in Oakley, CA, where she lives with her husband and two lynx point cats.

WordPress Origin Story

I discovered WordPress in 2005 when I first heard about blogging and was drawn further into it because it was so good for podcasting. As WP evolved into a CMS, I built more and more websites with it. After I joined the East Bay WordPress Meetup in 2009 and started to get involved with the community, WP slowly took over my life.
