Bio

My professional background is in business administration and marketing (especially business-to-business). February 2012, I launched a blog about building websites with WordPress. Mainly, to find out what this blogging was all about.

Helping business owners and bloggers with their website, and on-line business is what I do now. My passion for websites goes way back to the table based and pre CSS era in the mid ’90s. Nowadays, I prefer to create my websites with WordPress, of course.

When I am not working, I like to spend my time outdoors – biking, and hiking.

WordPress Origin Story

The first time I installed WordPress locally was in 2009, versions 2.8 and 2.9 It was my intention to check out Drupal, WordPress and Joomla. The latter had a strong community in the Netherlands at the time. WordPress was the 2nd CMS, I examined. Drupal was my first pick. However, I was almost immediately charmed by WordPress. Although, I did install Joomla! too, I pretty quick returned to WordPress. A choice I have never regretted.
