WordPress Origin Story

I was a Marketing Communications consultant for years and used WordPress very soon after it began for blogging for my personal business web site and for clients. As a marketer working in Silicon Valley and around databases, I quickly saw the potential for WP to become a powerful CMS tool. However, as I became sicker each day with miss-diagnosed Lyme disease, I couldn’t keep up with the rapidly changing web technology and new standards for responsive development. When the illness got so bad that I could no longer write a sentence, I closed my business, turned my WP biz site into a personal blog and focused on recovery. It took 5 years in treatment (total of 10 years too sick to work), but I’m finally recovered enough to go back to work, this time as a writer/content developer, specializing in services for clients who use WP. WordPress has changed so much in the last decade! I’ve had come up to speed with best practices, Themes, new plugin tools and re-learn CSS3 and HTML5. It’s been exciting as I work in with new WP and web tools while revising my personal WP site from a blog to a business front page and a blog. The more I learn about WP and where it’s going, the more potential I can see for entrepreneurs or people who prefer to work for themselves. I’m thrilled to be back at it and hacking at WP!
