WordPress Origin Story

I started creating WordPress websites and developing plugins when I volunteered to a website for a non-profit organization. I had never built a website before, but I decided to use WordPress because it is free. And since “necessity” is the mother of “invention” I started building plugins to perform some of the functions that I needed for that website. Later on I realized that what I had built for my own use might be useful to someone else also, and so I submitted them to the WordPress plugin repository.
