The Grind (2013):
My journey didn’t start in a comfortable corporate office, it started with hustle. After graduating with a B.Sc. in IT from Mumbai University in 2013, I faced the classic developer’s catch-22: I needed a job to get experience, but I needed experience to get a job.

Instead of waiting, I took action. I started working as a part-time, unpaid developer at a friend’s startup just to get my hands on real code. To pay the bills, I worked rotation shifts as a Technical Analyst in a call center, spending my 4-5 hours of free time every day coding for the startup.

The Open-Source Catalyst:
Six months of grinding paid off when I landed my first official role as a WordPress developer. I spent my days customizing themes and plugins, which quickly evolved into a deep passion for the platform. I began contributing to the WordPress repository (including the Marketplaces BuddyPress add-on) and became an active member of the WCMumbai community. That is where I truly learned the power of open-source software, collaboration, and community-driven development.

Scaling to Enterprise Leadership:
Fast forward to today, I have spent the last 7 years at BrowserStack, evolving from a Senior WordPress Engineer into a Sr. Team Lead. I’ve transitioned from building simple client sites to architecting enterprise decoupled ecosystems, managing complex CI/CD pipelines, migrating thousands of pages, and leading a high-velocity squad of 8+ engineers.

Today, my focus is on performance (Core Web Vitals), automation, and bridging the gap between complex engineering architectures and global business goals.

Operational Workflow & Leadership:
As a Team Lead, I don’t just write code, I ensure my team delivers high-quality software predictably and efficiently.
– Agile Execution: I direct 2-week sprints, leading backlog grooming and sprint planning with Product Owners to align technical execution with experiment KPIs.
– Cross-Functional Delivery: I translate Figma/InVision designs and technical specs into actionable JIRA workflows, ensuring zero bottlenecks and on-time QA handoffs.
– Code Quality: I enforce strict coding standards through comprehensive PR reviews and automated CI/CD deployments directly from Git to WPEngine.
– Team Culture: I actively champion my team’s successes, conduct regular 1:1s, and foster a high-output, positive engineering culture.
