Let’s start, As in 2013 I have just completed my B.Sc.IT graduated from Mumbai University and was looking for a job to start my career in IT. So at the start, it was too hard for me to get a professional IT job with just a graduation certificate without any special certification in any of the pro languages by that time.

So I start working in my friend’s startup company as a part-time developer without pay (Yeah! you read it write without pay just to gain experience in IT). And since now I have some expenditure so I start working as a technical analyst in a call center(In a rotation shift so I got some 4-5 hours of time to spend on my friend’s startup).

After spending 6 months, I got my first offer letter from the company where I was working on WordPress. This is the first when I have started working on WP. Searching for some cool themes and plugins and later customizing them as per the client’s needs that was my day to day effort. I engaged myself so much in this that soon I was started contributing to the WordPress plugin (one of them https://wordpress.org/plugins/marketplaces/).

With that, I truly started to appreciate what WordPress is, what Open-source is, blogging is, and what exactly a true community is all about. Soon, I started engaging with the WCMumbai community. I started attending a local WordPress meet-ups.

Overall now it has been 6+ years on WP and currently, I am working with BrowserStack. I use WordPress on a daily basis, and love coming up with unique solutions to problems using it.
I don’t know where the future will take me. For now, I am just going with the flow and more importantly, I am enjoying it.

Current WorkFlows:

– Based on Agile methodology following a 2 weeks sprint.
– Attending/Leading regular grooming meetings from a WordPress standpoint with stakeholders and Product Owners.
– Analyzing/Discussing Task Brief, Spec’s, Design(Invison/Figma), Estimation, Prioritization, and Experiment KPI’s.
– Making sure JIRA task fields are filled enough to work upon it.
– Sprint planning with the Team and Project Manager also helps to assign tasks within the team. Working on Task and making sure it is handed over to QA on time and further ensuring it is delivered on time.
– Reviewing fellow members’ PR’s to ensure task requirements have been met with coding standards.
– Have built a CI/CD job that helps run gulp on Github.
– Also built Jenkins deployment CI/CD pipeline job which pushes code from Git to WPEngine.
– Appreciating other team members for their awesome work.

As a part of my career journey, I have developed a few Strengths which I would like to mention.

My Strengths include :

Knowledge: As a developer, I solve complex problems by exhibiting curiosity and offering out-of-the-box efficient solutions. Introduce and leverage new concepts to enhance self and team knowledge and productivity.

Problem Solving Skills: I have always taken the lead in order to spend time understanding the query that I have, evaluating it, and providing outcomes that match the expectations. At the same time, I am also aware of limitations if any arise and encourage myself to try different approaches.

Execution: I demonstrate the ability to plan and deliver relevant results with accountability within timelines and with minimal guidance. I am always aligned with business priorities and team members to deliver a role impact.

Leadership: I build self-awareness and adapt well to work with others in different situations. Stay agile, communicate effectively, and showcase consistency of action and word to develop trust.
