Bio

I am an author, project manager, and web enthusiast located in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. I’ve spent the past 10 years in the design, development, and marketing industry creating countless websites, blog posts, marketing materials, and more.

When I’m not working on websites, I’m trying to write my next book, drawing pictures of nerdy things, gaming, go to concerts, or exploring the Minneapolis metro.

WordPress Origin Story

Once upon a time, I had a movie blog on this strange, custom blogging platform. While I received good traffic, the blog layout and functionality was hidden. Eventually, that just fizzled out altogether. A year or two later, I decided to return to blogging as a way of processing my thoughts and figuring out what I wanted to do with my life.

I decided I wanted a blog that was more customizable and attractive, and a friend recommended WordPress to me. This was 2011 before fancy page builders and drag-and-drop functionality. Themes had to be manually setup and most customized required some degree of coding. It was a lot of learning, but after going through some online CSS and HTML training, I figured out what I was doing and eventually created a blog I was very proud of.

A year after that, I would find myself working at a web design and marketing agency that primarily built websites on WordPress, and I’ve been in the industry ever since.
