Bio

I’m a senior technical writer, webmaster, business process improvement specialist and project manager with a strong background in business administration, regulatory compliance and risk management. And am enjoying retirement. I still manage several WordPress sites on a volunteer basis and help friends create their ebooks.

WordPress Origin Story

I’ve been a webmaster since 1995 and for years was adamant about building sites from scratch. At the time I heard about WordPress (11 or 12 years ago), clients had stopped paying $2k to $20k for site creation, they wanted to pay less than $2k for a shopping cart site! Discovering that WordPress combined with WooCommerce and WPML could save me 40 to 100 hours of coding time, and provide the client with an opportunity to view and choose themes live (on sites like ThemeForest), helped me remain competitive.
