Bio

I consider myself a web professional. I maintain the WordPress website for my wife’s business, as well as websites for a growing number of our clients. I am also the web team coordinator for a national Canadian broadcaster, where we use WordPress with a fully custom theme and some custom plugins.

WordPress Origin Story

I first got my hands dirty in WordPress with the development of the site for my wife’s business. I originally learned WP from following along with a course on Lynda.com, authored by WP guru Morten Rand-Hendricksen. From there it progressed to sites for family, then on to paying clients. I’ve tried other CMSs, like Joomla and Drupal, but each time came back to WP. Now, I’m staying. The community is amazing. Documentation is thorough. Answers are always available, no matter how odd the query is. Now, I find myself developing my own themes and hacking some plugins for my own use, to get exactly what I need. And I’m having a ton of fun doing it.
