Bio

Suzette Franck has been in web development for almost thirty years; she started making hand-coded HTML websites on geocities with font tags and tables back in 1995. Since then, she has taught herself CSS, Sass, PHP, MySQL, as well as becoming a WordPress expert; evangelizing and presenting at thirty WordCamps across the US and Canada about all aspects of building and maintaining sites on WordPress. She is now a Content Producer at Warner Bros. where she maintains and develops both WordPress and Drupal Sites.

WordPress Origin Story

My first time speaking, attending or participating in a meetup or WordCamp event was in 2011, at Orange County’s 2nd annual WordCamp. I spoke on BuddyPress and I was brand new to the community. I was very excited for the opportunity and I fell in love with the people in the community and started attending the OCWP Meetups, which ran twice a month. I met a group of awesome, talented, super smart people that were just as excited about WordPress as I was. I accepted a position as Media Temple’s WordPress Evangelist and during that time, I gave 30 talks at WordCamps and over 50 talks at local Meetups, and I am continually looking for ways to educate the public about WordPress.
