    Bio

    I contribute to a few open-source educational technology projects and was formerly the product manager for Pressbooks (open source book publishing software built on WordPress multisite). I have a Ph.D. in English Literature and a master’s degree in Library and Information Studies, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Outside of work and family, my great loves are poetry (with a special interest in the work of the “Objectivists”), music, DIY/indie web stuff, vegetarian food, and playing pickup soccer.

    WordPress Origin Story

    I learned HTML + CSS in library school years ago, and began building websites by hand coding them. Started using WordPress in 2008 or 2009 because I wasn’t a skilled PHP developer and really appreciated its flexibility & ease of use.
