I was on my journey to becoming an actress when I suddenly decided to change direction and enter the world of Marketing and Communications.

During my time studying PR and Journalism one thing stood out to me – the acclaimed professors at Uni were all encouraging us to create our own blogs. And not just on any platform, but specifically on WordPress as they understood the true power it holds.

And so I followed their advice. I set up a pop culture-inspired WordPress blog where I began writing movie and music reviews.

Fast forward to the time I was freshly graduated – this is when I started job hunting in hopes of finding something that can truly spark my soul and give me purpose.

I didn’t have any previous experience as a marketing professional so my WordPress blog became my biggest advocate for what I can do with words and ideas.

Thankfully, someone noticed me. And not just someone but someone from the WordPress community.

I met Ivan Popov – the CEO of Vipe Studio (the company I work for) – and we immediately bonded over our mutual love for pop culture. I realised I have the amazing opportunity to not only work for a super cool web development agency but to also become part of the greater WordPress community that shares so many of the same values as me.

The rest is history. I am now the Marketing Lead of Vipe Studio, and I’m focused on imbuing the WordPress values in everything I do. Some of those values, I believe, are innovation, inclusivity, kindness, and creativity.

So thank you, WordPress, for entering my life in such an unexpected but pleasant way. I’m sure it was simply meant to be.
