Bio

I am a Systems Analyst at an IT firm who has a strong passion for anything WordPress. I find nothing as awesome as a WordPress problem because it will be solved and will bring a smile and a handful of happiness to the one who had the problem.

I hope to become a theme and plugin developer to bring customized solutions to online users using WordPress as the core.

WordPress Origin Story

At my first job after graduating, I was asked to do some research into a possible CMS we could use to revamp our website. We worked primarily with Microsoft technologies so I limited my search to applications powered by .NET. I then decided to broaden my search to other languages and I discovered WordPress.

The installation was ridiculously easy compared to the other CMS platforms I tested. I had no one to show me how to use it to build websites and no one around me believed in the platform so I struggled with it the first year – never really producing anything to my liking.

In my next job, the developers were all PHP-savvy but all had their reservations about WordPress – the main reason being it was a very insecure platform. It took me a while to prove to them that WordPress, like all other PHP applications, could be made secure. Two test projects later, the developers realised that WordPress was not only a powerful and easy-to-use platform but also a secure and quick-to-deploy for simple and robust websites.

I got a whole lot better at deployment, development, restoration & recovery, optimization and teaching others in the ways of WordPress. I became the go-to guy for anything WordPress and I also started developing WordPress-based solutions for private clients.

I plan on starting a WordPress mini-academy to each other WordPress users introductory tips and tricks to make their WordPress experience a better one than I had.
