WordPress Origin Story

I love writing code, and that is where my WordPress story started over a decade ago. As I created custom web applications for P&L reports and fancy website from scratch, clients kept coming back for content and SEO work. I began getting more calls for basic upkeep than I was getting for new work. Working with small business owners taught me they need something that can grow with them and that is commonly supported by other major platforms. It has also been my experience that businesses should avoid proprietary DIY platforms with closed ecosystems, which is where open source and WordPress really excels at meeting the needs of small businesses to build and manage their websites, reliably, every single day.
