WordPress Origin Story

I’m an artist who is learning to use WordPress to design myself a new portfolio website. My old website was done (by someone else) in GoLive which I was never able to learn. In the last 5 years I spent an embarrassing amount of money hiring two others to redo my site for me; both fiascos. So I am going the DIY route and have been trying to sort through the jungle of info to find information relevant ONLY to the creation of artist/creative websites. Not the easiest task….
