I’m a creative front-end web developer, also doing some full-stack work using nodeJS, PHP, and Symfony. I’d prefer static / “JAMstack” site generators, but sometimes I still use WordPress, mainly to support my customers.

WordPress Origin Story

About 2003? 2005? in those times before Web 2.0, before YouTube and flickR and all, someone told me about that useful blogging script in PHP and mySQL, called WordPress. I used to make hundreds of WordPress pages back then, lost interest when I focused on e-commerce, responsive and mobile webdesign, and page speed / web performance optimization. Rediscovered WordPress because so many customers still use it for blogging or small business, and there is a very friendly, helpful, and supportive local WordPress community in Germany.
