I was asked if I could help with particular items for the community by Abha Thakor, later on by Raffaella Isidori for Translation Day, and Jill for WPDiversity. I have been pleased with others to translate in many of the languages I speak for WordPress Translation Days. I contribute with my husband, who also wrote for journals, on articles. I have helped interview people for features. I have spoken at events and groups about translation and communicating across cultures internationally. I like to highlight the value of translating for understanding for the local language and not just word for word where readers may get lost. I have been a member of many international societies and am interested in the WordPress community due to its commitment to bringing people together across the globe.

Through Mary Baum, Yvette Sonneveld and others, I joined the core team and been part of a couple of releases. I also support Hauwa, Courtney and Pooja, and others in the Training Team when I can.

I help, as does my husband as a writer, on the WordPress Marketing Team too, mainly through mentoring and supporting diversity, and as part of this I stood as a team rep in 2022. I was drawn into more involvement in the community through meeting some of the WordCamp Europe organisers on a video call after the 2020 event. I was a volunteer at WCEU 2021 and WordPress Translation Days in 2019, 2020, and 2021. I am on the WPDiversity Team.
