I already loved WordPress since in 2013 when I started my very first blog and was amazed by what WordPress made possible and how easy it was.
Later in 2017 I started working for myself and wanted to learn more about WordPress, so I found there was an event close to where I lived called “WordPress Retreat Soltau”. Tickets were already sold out but they were looking for volunteers to help organize the event. I had organized events before, so I applied and got accepted (later I would learn that I had actually started backwards, because one “usually” starts by attending a Meet-up, then goes to a WordCamp, then one volunteers, and for the lucky few, then you go to a “WordCamp Retreat”; but not me: I went straight for the later).
That first WordCamp was one of the most fun and memorable weekends I’ve ever had, so I was hooked: next stop: volunteering for WordCamp Europe 2018 & 2019 and then attending as many WordCamps as I could afford from then on.
The people that I’ve met in this community are amazing: this is a beautiful group of generous, friendly and incredibly talented people.
I love the spirit of the open-source project and I’m very happy to be able to contribute to it, even if it’s just a small part.
