Bio

I began my journey as a developer when I went to a local bookstore and bought a book on HTML and CSS, followed the instructions and coded my first website by hand. I built my first WordPress site in 2012 and I have been working with WordPress ever since. I have dabbled in coding themes, plugins, and WP blocks. I am forever a student of web development and look forward to working in the WordPress ecosystem.

WordPress Origin Story

I built my first site in 2000 with a drop-and-drag editor. My next sites were built in Microsoft FrontPage. When FrontPage went away in 2008, I kind of got away from web design for a few years and tried some “non-techy” businesses. In 2011, I decided to get back into web design and started coding HTML and CSS. I built my first site by hand but wanted better SEO features and heard about this thing called WordPress. I built my first site on WordPress.com and began building and hosting my own WordPress sites. In 2015, I began studying how to build themes and built my first coupe of themes. Now I am learning more about building plugins and advancing my coding skill set. I prefer to work on the Genesis framework, but it’s not a deal breaker to look at other platforms. Today, I spend my time updating my sites and helping clients keep their sites running.
