    Bio

A former Support Engineer for Automattic, I currently live in the Interior of British Columbia. My past lives include teaching, journalism, volunteer work on many fronts, and business ownership doing website design and development. I am always learning something new, and am passionate about finding awesome solutions to tough problems!

    WordPress Origin Story

In August 2015, I was a freelance website developer and, having just discovered WordPress, I decided to attend the Vancouver WordCamp. This was a six-hour drive from my home, but I was attracted to the community spirit—I could hardly believe that for just $25, I would be able to attend a day full of learning, enjoy lunch, and come home with a T-shirt! It was my first foray into the world of open source and the rest is history…
