Back in the early 2000s, building a website wasn’t simple. If you wanted to publish online, you either needed to know how to code or rely on clunky, limited tools that restricted what you could do. For creators, small business owners, and entrepreneurs, that meant barriers—real ones.

In 2003, Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little changed that.

That project became WordPress.
