Bio

I use social media and content strategy to help companies generate leads and wow their customers. I love helping small businesses build their brand and tell their story.

I enjoying following startups, small businesses, and (of course) WordPress. I’m a huge advocate for companies that are sustainable in three areas: economically, environmentally, and socially.

WordPress Origin Story

I started using WordPress after I grew out of Google’s Blogger in 2006. At the time, I was learning about ASP and creating one-off projects that got me curious about databases. While looking for a better way to express myself, I came across WordPress. I was primarily writing about technology and the dynamics found in interest-based online communities, which has later become known as social media. Throughout my journey, my little piece of real estate on the internet was proudly built with WordPress.

Professionally, I realized the transformative power of WordPress for a business’ identity with blogging. The ease of use of WordPress combined with the flexibility of themes, plugins, and the amazing community makes it ideal for many brands that want to communicate with customers, prospects, and the media. I founded the blog for Infusionsoft in 2009, and it has grown to attract hundreds and thousands of people to read and consume. It was a success story with content marketing, and content strategy and WordPress made it much easier for a startup to educate and inspire people to grow their small businesses.

It’s my sincere pleasure to support the WordPress community and fellow users since I have become a better marketing professional because of it. In 2014, I helped organize one of the largest WordCamps to date in Phoenix, and it was great to help hundreds of other users love and appreciate WordPress a little more. I occasionally participate in local WordPress Meetups in Phoenix sharing helpful tips, broader marketing strategies, and nifty plugins to help people express themselves to the fullest.
