I’ve realized that, despite having been working with WordPress for many years (both personally and professionally), I’ve been quite some time without knowing the soul of this CMS: the people who create, maintain and promote it.
Although I’ve been working for more than fourteen years in the maintenance of servers that host thousands of WordPress platforms, the first event I went to (without knowing very well what to expect, truth be told) was the WordCamp Bilbao 2017.
From that moment I fell in love with the community and all the activities that surround it: I’ve attended many more WordCamps (as an attendee, as a speaker and as a sponsor), I’ve given talks and helped organize meetups, I’ve contributed to the creation of new local groups and I try to spread the use of the platform to new audiences.
To this day, WordPress is one of the cores around which my work revolves. In addition to a very valuable professional experience, I owe it to have met great colleagues and friends.
