An Australian living in the UK, I’ve been involved in software development for many years after doing a Computer Science degree at ANU. I’ve run teams for most of the time since then, but love coding. For the last 10 years I’ve been CTO of Sellerdeck Ltd, and was also involved in the company when it launched over 26 years ago.
I develop in many languages including C, C++, Perl, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, SQL, .Net, Python but my main love is solving performance problems using nifty algorithms.
WordPress Origin Story
Sellerdeck has given me many years’ experience with ecommerce using a static site generator running as a Windows app. We developed some product filtering technology for that which wasn’t in WordPress / WooCommerce, so we decided to write a plugin and bring it to a wider market. Acsell is the brand we have used for this venture.
I got involved at the contributers day at WordCamp Europe 2022 and found that with my experience I could make a contribution to the Core team. It’s daunting, but I hope to add more given my focus on performance.
