I’m 50 years old and i’ve been in construction for over 30 years. However when I turned 40 my doctor said I had to leave the Masonry trade oir I wouldn’t see 60. Well shit, now what do I do. To dam,n old to retrain and become a brain surgeon or astronaut. Maybe a fireman. F*(k that, too fat for the calendar. So I became a occupational health and safety professional specializing in construction. Back to school and build a sole proprietorship company. But I need a webpage. Can’t afford 5-10 or more thousand dollars. So I learned wordpress. I may not have the most elegant or trendy looking site, but I’m ranking on page 1 of Google in my area for the occupational services I do. Im getting contract from huge developers, prime contractors and leaders in industry. Making money and surviving. After all it’s that what its all about .

Interests

The protection of workers by way of education and training, monitoring and conducting First Aid when required, and by leading by example. As a Respirator Fit Tester, I personally ensured the health and safety during Covid of over 300o essential medical and dental service personal, as all first responders.

WordPress Origin Story

How did I get here. Hell in school I was the leather jacket wearing kid in the parking lot smoking pot and skipping out. I only did 1 book report and they only reason why I passed was the teachers didn’t want me back. got into construction for years, got hurt, developed fibromyalgia, and one day a Dr.said “change careers of suffer till you die.” I went back to school and because of my extensive knowledge of the trades and construction (Sector 72 in BC) a goth looking employment consultant suggested I become a CSO ‘construction safety officer’. So back to school I go to learn WorkSafe BC law and get my occupational first aid level 3.
Now fully ticketed, trained, doing it for a few years and I even discovered a passion for writing. I developed a Prime Contractors occupational health and safety program, I protect the ones who cant protect themselves. Much like I did when I punched out the bullies for picking on the weaker kids. So now I find myself building my own business. FreeBird Safety Services. I started out building a site with a template on Telus Web Hoisting. After having some issues, I talked to a tech call taker at 3am. He put the idea of WordPress in my head. so I scrapped a months work and here I am. The difference is analog to digital. However I am having problems and sure could use a smart personas help.
What I do is run a service and I have product as well. I need to separate the two in my store> Because of shipping and other things, I’m just not smart enough to figure it out. , I’m also having serious issues with Google Analytics
