Bio

I’m a self‑taught developer with a background in hands‑on IT and network installation. I started my career running structured cabling, terminating copper and fiber lines, and using professional test equipment to ensure customers received clean, reliable network signals. Over time, I became increasingly interested in the software side of technology, especially web development and automation.

Today, I focus on building and modernizing WordPress plugins, improving code quality, and creating practical tools for small businesses. I enjoy learning new technologies, solving real‑world problems, and contributing to the open‑source community.

Interests

WordPress plugin development, modernizing legacy code, automation, small‑business systems, accessibility, responsive design, hiking, camping, and spending time with my family.

WordPress Origin Story

I first encountered WordPress in 2015 while working on a web development class assignment. The project itself was written in Java, but during the process I discovered WordPress and became fascinated by how flexible and extensible the platform was. Even though I didn’t use WordPress for the assignment, I was curious enough to take the logic I had written in Java and port it into my first WordPress plugin. That experiment eventually became the mortgage calculator I published on WordPress.org..

Since then, I’ve continued learning by building real projects, modernizing my own code, and exploring how WordPress plugins work under the hood. I haven’t used Java much since that first assignment — WordPress development captured my interest and has been my main focus ever since.
