WordPress Origin Story

A friend of mine started a successful travel blog, and I was inspired to follow her example. I didn’t want to do it as a business. The idea was to have a website where friends and family could follow my travels.

I knew NOTHING at all about building websites. Nothing. However, WordPress seemed to be the way to go. Unfortunately, WordPress and I have not gotten along at all. I have had nothing but trouble from the very beginning. Everything that could possibly go wrong has gone wrong. And these things have gone wrong over and over and over again.

I’ve spent hundreds of hours studying WordPress and going over online help resources. But it didn’t help at all. I just can’t come to grips with how WordPress works and how websites work in general.

So, that’s my WordPress Origin Story. I’m sorry to say it hasn’t been a happy one. On the positive, the blog I created does exist. So there’s that.
