Two disgruntled users, Matt Mullenweg, and Mike Little, took up the challenge and reimagined b2/cafelog to create a new way to build websites. That was the birth of WordPress. On May 27, 2003, Matt and Mike announced the first version of WordPress based on a b2/cafelog fork but with significant improvements.
