WordPress user and figure-outer, not a developer.

Once upon a time, I wrote things like the GoLive 5 Bible, and about how to create websites and various tools for MacDesign magazine, Macworld magazine and others. So I can hand code a beautiful CSS site.

But now I travel a lot and when traveling, nothing beats WordPress so I’ve become a fan (as long as I also have a great site host and the WordFence plugin to minimize the hacking.

WordPress Origin Story

I can hand code a beautiful CSS site and I was a huge fan of Adobe GoLive (well, GoLive Cyberstudio aka GoLive) and then used Dreamweaver. I actually wrote the GoLive 5 Bible, and the GoLive column in MacDesign magazine, and about GoLive for O’Reilly.com. I also wrote about web design tools for Macworld magazine and others. But then I started to travel full time, writing client’s websites and my own sites while traveling. Robbed of my Mac on the road, I was hand-coding the sites in HTML and I realized just how much more flexibility I’d have in WordPress. So now I use WordPress almost exclusively.
