I have 20+ years of solid experience in the IT field for major companies (mostly around operations and application management, security and compliance, automation, databases, data collection and analysis). I believe that any technological and scientific improvement should be useful; it should not be driven by greed for money and competition, but by usefulness, reliability, safety, practicality.

I quit my high paying job as a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft in 2015 and since then I have been working on healing myself and my family: we moved on top of a hill in the Italian countryside, in an old farm house that was abandoned for a long time and needed restructuring and love. We have greatly reduced our needs and our energy consumption and made the place functional but also cheap to run, sustainable and environment-friendly.

Starting in 2020 I worked as the Dev Lead and full stack developer for UAM.TV, an independent Italian WebTV, where I enjoyed coding in PHP, Javascript, Java (Android) and all sort of open source technologies that made people frown when I was at Microsoft, but that I had always kept using in his spare time anyways. In the spring of 2024 UAM.TV decided to migrate to an outsourced company/solution and it’s de-commissioned the infrastruture I developed and I maintained, and I was laid off.

I make music under the artist name Shambien.
