WordPress Origin Story

I designed websites for many years in html & CSS. A friend was raving about WordPress. He showed it to me but it just confused me. Then came April 2015 and Google’s threat that they would only prioritize mobile friendly websites. I had customers who had high rankings and needed to keep their position. I love the Open Source concept and knew it was time to dig in and see if I could figure out how to use WordPress. I was building the websites and learning at the same time. I have fussy clients (who doesn’t?) and needed to be able to make changes in formating etc. so I also had to figure out how to do that within the themes. Finding themes that fit the designs that my customers wanted (had to look like their “old” website) was a challenge at first and then got to be a sport – as did the CSS work. I am forever grateful to WordPress and the developers! THANK YOU!!!!
