Bio

I’m a former newspaper journalist turned full-time entrepreneur. In 2008, I started iThemes.com, which builds web design software and offers cutting-edge web design training for WordPress for thousands of customers around the globe.

In 2011, I co-founded The Div, Inc, a nonprofit tech foundation aimed at inspiring and training the next generation of web developers through its kid’s program, Div Jr.

WordPress Origin Story

Started blogging with WordPress in 2006. Which lead to a fascination with trying to learn web design. Which results in 30+ free WP themes. Then I started iThemes.com in my home in 2008. Now we have 20+ people, an office in Oklahoma, and thousands of customers all over the globe. Our hit products are BackupBuddy, iThemes Security, iThemes Sync, among others. iThemes was acquired in 2018 by Liquid Web, a premiere web hosting company. Now I use WordPress for all my projects.
