Bio

Retired self-taught Marine helo pilot dragooned into serving as Webmaster for our small veterans organization. Long-time PC user, all the way back to DOS and to the naked C:\ prompt. Wrote a lot of FORTRAN back in the 80s. Built a fairly complex website from scratch with just HTML and brute stubbornness. Nothing modern, though; PHP, SQL, CSS, JAVA, et al are beyond me and likely to remain so. Can’t seem to wrap my brain around object-oriented programming. Too old, I guess.

WordPress Origin Story

HMM-265.org Webmaster passed away in 2014 and I foolishly agreed to give it shot. A friend of a friend took over the hosting and converted the site from Joomla! to WordPress and I took it from there. The Monkey Watchmaker: If you hand a monkey a bag of watch parts and tell him to build a watch he just sits there and shakes the bag. That’s me; I just shake the bag and make frequent backups.
