I spent 15 years as an elected Member in the Ontario Legislative Assembly. Of course, I needed a web site as an elected Member. My first web site, circa the late 1990s, was done with Microsoft FrontPage. Version 2 in 2004 I did from scratch in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and VBScript on the server side. It used frames, where were being deprecated. Version 3 was another creation of mine in ASP.Net. Functionally, it was pretty close to WordPress, which was a new product when I originally wrote it prior to my third election. After trying a WordPress site for my spouse, and liking it, I gradually shifted all the sites I maintained (between seven and ten at various times) from whatever platform they were on to WordPress. Now, WordPress runs seven sites for me , my spouse, and few friends and clients.
