    WordPress Origin Story

    After spending several years building massive custom content management sites for IBM, UPS, Univision.com and Fortune 500 companies, I started to search for a way to help SMBs have the same advantage. (Note: this was back in the day where the mom-n-pop shop had a static site held hostage by their designer – “Please change our phone number! It’s been 3 months! Please!”). While Java was the language we were using for the IBM clients, all of our internal, skunkworks projects were done in PHP. So I started my search for an open source PHP based CMS that could be extended to handle custom site features.

    This search lead me to WordPress 2 point something. Hundreds of happy customers later, I’m still here.
