To be honest, I really stumbled into WordPress by accident. In college, I was hoping to launch a personal blog where I could write about my hobbies and share photos from trips. A classmate recommended I try WordPress as an easy way to get online without advanced coding skills.

At first, all I used WordPress for was that basic blog. But as I played around with the editing features and read up on site customization, I realized how much more the platform could do. That’s when I really fell down the WordPress rabbit hole!

I started tweaking little things like my theme design and layout. Before long, I was digging into templates and the loop to make more substantial changes. From there it turned into learning PHP and SQL to fully understand how the platform worked under the hood.

Next thing I knew, I was troubleshooting plugins and themes for friends who had WordPress sites of their own. I guess helping others made me love it even more. These days, I spend most of my free time following WordPress development and experimenting with new features.

Who would have thought that blog I made just for fun would turn into a full-blown passion for web design and development? WordPress opened so many doors for me to get creative online. I’m really glad that classmate nudged me towards this incredible open source platform all those years ago.
