    Bio

    An entrepreneur with interest in creating and updating WordPress sites and translating some WooCommerce related plugins into coherent, easy to understand, and fluent Finnish. More during the winter, very little during the summer. – As “jules” Member Since: January 22nd, 2004.

    I used to translate the following projects but for the time being I have frozen my translation efforts for these plugins and themes. Life’s events have taken over. I hope in future to get back to these projects. Fingers crossed 🙂

    WordPress Origin Story

    Well, I had translated into Finnish and installed one of the earliest open source CMS, PostNuke in spring 2002. But PostNuke was too cumbersome to keep up to date and its developement stalled. So, next year I compared all other lighter publication platforms.
    As result of this evaluation I chose WordPress. It was at version 1.01 at that moment (Jan. 2004) and some communication took place. However, I had no use for it and as a webshop I later chose Joomla and VirtueMart & translated them into Finnish. It was in 2008-2009 when I engaged seriously with WordPress again. It had matured and was so smooth. I ended up creating many WordPress websites.
    In 2012 I got fed up with VirtueMart – again, difficult to update. The obvious choice was to translate emerging webshop WooCommerce and move the data to WordPress + WooCommerce. – Now I see no reason to jump to a different platform. Excellent ecosystem, the best there is at this large scale.
