These days I use nodejs above PHP, but still love wordpress.
(I should update my plugins to adapt to newest versions, doh!)

WordPress Origin Story

I started using wordpress after ditching joomla in 2007. Easier to theme, easier to manage, easier to extend and a huge ecosystem. I loved it.

I started developing plugins after a couple of years, but I stopped working on it because, well, my blog is kind of abandoned and WP wasn’t a good fit for my full time job. I got back in 2018 to develop ecommerce sites using WooCommerce. I’m slowly starting to get familiar with new features, deprecated methods and recovering some long forgotten knowledge I had on this CMS/Framework.

I’d love to see plugin repos moved to GitHub (PRs are crucial) and having wordpress and its plugins adopt composer and PSR standards. Oh, and update included jQuery, we’re in 3.x release already!
