Bio

I specialise in content strategy for WordPress websites. I’m the founder of Unramble where we use content to create and build brands – on websites, via social media, email marketing and at events. I have a particular interest in how tone of voice can affect inclusiveness. Previously based in Brighton, UK I’ve organised both WordCamp Brighton and the local meetup, WordUp Brighton 🙂

WordPress Origin Story

My first experience with WordPress was back in 2013 when I started a blog. I gradually became more and more familiar with WordPress, and taught myself HTML and a bit of CSS as a matter of necessity.

After a year running that blog and other websites alongside my day job (microbiologist), I decided to move away from science and into digital content full time. So I started freelancing as a copywriter, moving to Brighton to be amongst the digital scene.

In 2015, I started my company, Unramble. We create content strategies, and invariably, the websites involved are built in WordPress. Without WordPress I may never have found my dream career, and I fall more in love with it every day.
