WordPress Origin Story

I first encountered WordPress while working at a game development company in Tokyo.
The company handled projects for major clients such as Nintendo and SEGA, but its website was outdated and failed to properly showcase its work or appeal.
To strengthen the company’s brand and improve recruitment, we formed a dedicated web team and decided to rebuild the site using WordPress.
At the time, I was working as a UI designer. Through this project, I realized that the same principles I used in game UI design—organizing information and presenting it in a clear, structured way—applied directly to web design as well. The core thinking behind game interfaces and websites was fundamentally the same.
This experience led me to become deeply interested in building entire websites, not just designing individual screens.
WordPress became the starting point of my journey into web development.
