WordPress Origin Story

At the Electronic Book Fair 2014 in Berlin, Ivar Leon Menger got me involved, so after listening to several interviews by Matt Mullenweg and recognizing the strong support for freely licensed software, I got quite confident that WordPress is a valuable building block for modern publishing, as modern publishing inherently refers to publishing to the Web. Soon I started with “Professional WordPress – Design and Development, Second Edition” by Brad Williams, David Damstra and Hal Stern to get a first overview and impression of the WordPress system.
