I am an attorney in Fresno, California, who enjoys building and maintaining my own websites.

WordPress Origin Story

I used to hand-code pages whenever I felt I had something new to say, back before blogging software existed: in fact, before we called it “blogging.” I (vaguely) remember using earlier packages like Frontierland and MovableType. Then, one day I found WordPress. Until a few years ago, I had not tried to build my own websites from scratch. (And I’ve only done a couple completely from scratch ever.) Now I’m trying to figure out whether to try figuring out this FSE/Gutenberg/Blocks stuff, or just throw in the towel.
